Weekday Wellness Appointments
The SPCA will be scheduling Wellness appointments Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. These 30-minute appointments will be available at 3:30pm & 4:00pm. Schedule your pet's wellness appointment by calling 276-638-7297.
These appointments will offer basic veterinary care (vaccines, etc), treatment for minor illnesses, end-of-life care, and euthanasia. Prices can be viewed here. All services require a physical exam and full payment is due at the time of service.
The SPCA does not accept Care Credit at this time.
Pet Euthanasia
The SPCA is now offering pet euthanasia through the Louise R. Lester Spay/Neuter Clinic. Appointments for euthanasia are variable depending on your animal's needs and the vet's availability. We are partnering with Wright Funeral Home for pet cremation; if you want to plan for cremation, we will give you the contact for Wright Funeral Home to schedule in conjunction with the euthanasia appointment. It is the owner's responsibility to schedule cremation and transport the animal to Wright Funeral Home.
We also offer memorial options of a paw print ($10) and a vial of fur ($5) as additional services.
If you are unable to take your animal with you after euthanasia, the SPCA can handle the disposal for an additional $20.
Veterinarian reserves the right to refuse euthanasia if deemed inappropriate.
In-Home Euthanasia
The SPCA is now offering in-home euthanasia through the Louise R. Lester Spay/Neuter Clinic. Appointments for euthanasia are variable depending on your animal's needs and the vet's availability. To schedule an in-home euthanasia, please call 276-638-7297. Appointments are generally late afternoon and early evening. The veterinarian and a technician will come to your home to provide sedation and euthanasia services for your beloved pet.
In-home euthanasia will also be offered within the Martinsville-Henry County area for $500. If you have more than one animal, the first animal is $500 and each additional animal will be $200 apiece.
We are partnering with Wright Funeral Home for pet cremation; if you want to plan for cremation, we will give you the contact for Wright Funeral Home to schedule in conjunction with the euthanasia appointment. It is the owner's responsibility to schedule cremation and transport the animal to Wright Funeral Home.

If you are unable to make arrangements for your pet after euthanasia, the SPCA can handle the disposal for an additional $20.
